Welcome!
Got a great story but just don't have the time or energy to create the entire world?
Sometimes I will have a wonderful story for a RPG. Then I think about all the maps and world building I'm gonna have to do before I can even start the story. Then I get lazy. Eventually, the game dies before it even gets off the ground. Sound familiar?
Sometimes I just want something to help me kickstart a game.
What if there was a world with ready made maps, characters, and other stuff that we can all use freely and immediately without worrying about copyright and legal stuff? What if a lot of people contribute to this world, making it far more creative and diverse than any single individual can hope to create? Well, that's what this project is about.
This actually isn't that original of an idea. There is the Arum project. Think of this as something similar, but for RPG Maker MV.
For now we will concentrate on maps. But feel free to submit any world settings (think DnD like source books) and we can put them in.
Participate and together let's build the biggest RM world that anyone can use for free! Got an awesome world setting that you want someone to build a game in? Submit it here! Got maps from an abandoned project that will probably never see the light of day? Why let it go to waste? Submit it here! Let's all contribute! When that happens, we will all receive more than any one of us can create.

How it works
- You are free to use and modify any of the maps and world setting ideas found on this site, including the names. In other words, even though this is called the Sorceria project, you are under no obligation to call it that. That goes for all the maps and resources on this page. They are here for you to adapt into and modify for your own games. For more details please see the Terms of Use page.
- By submitting your map here, you agree to release it to the public domain under the CC Attribution license. You will be credited. Know that users may modify your maps. Don't submit anything you're not comfortable having changed. For more details see the Terms of Use page.
- Sorceria is a community effort. Right now it's a blank slate. Let's imagine the rest of this world together. We at Watermark RPG will continue to make new maps for this, but for this to truly work just us won't be enough. Pick a region in the World Grid, reserve that spot with us, and Create!
Technical stuff
- Submit your maps as a RPG Maker MV project. See the SAMPLE for reference.
- ALL MAPS grouped BY AUTHOR because teleport events link to specific map ids, and it's just too difficult to combine everyone's maps into one big project. Plus everybody has different ideas on how to arrange tilesets and plugin settings. So each author is responsible for your own project. For example we the admins, would upload the "Sorceria watermark" project, which contain all of our maps organized the way we like. If you are Jenny, you can submit the "Sorceria Jenny" project, etc. The good part is you get your own page!
- Do not use any common events. You may use map events. This is to make it easier for maps made by different authors to be used together. If you need common event like functionality, we recommend you use Yanfly's Call Event plug-in.
- You can use plug-ins. Do know that plug-ins may become outdated due to engine updates.
- Please "clean" your project before submitting. That means no putting anything that you won't need to use in the maps to keep download sizes small. Mostly this refers to the RTP sounds, backgrounds, battlers, and unused charsets that won't be used in your maps.
- Use a screen capture plug-in or tool to grab screenshots of your maps. Such as Hudell's orangemapshot.

- Submit a 128x128px picture to be used as your author badge. It will be cropped into a circle.
- Submit a Credits.txt with your project that details who needs to be credited.
- Do NOT include any commercial only resources such as purchased resource packages. You can use them in your maps and tileset settings, but remember to remove the actual graphics files before upload.
- We at Watermark RPG will be responsible for hosting and curating the materials so you don't have to worry about it. Once you give us your project and picture files, we will put it up on a page here.
- We are NOT responsible for anything you put in your project. Of course, if we find anything we feel is inappropriate or illegal, we shall remove it. If anyone contacts us regarding an infringement, we will remove the material until the dispute is settled.
